Founders - Fred and Marie-Paule Lafontaine

In 1959, Fred and Marie Lafontaine opened one of Ontario's first nursing homes. With the distinction of being among the first in Ontario to be approved by the Ministry of Health for provision of long term care for seniors, this venture grew to include nursing and retirement homes across the province.

Over the years, Community Lifecare continued to prosper and experience consistent growth, earning a reputation as one of Ontario's finest managers of nursing and retirement homes. We know well the importance of the personal touch in creating a truly enjoyable retirement experience. The warm, caring environment created in each home we manage is the result of innovative thinking, careful planning, the efforts of our outstanding caregivers and the experience gained in over four decades of service to Ontario seniors.
